Drug Use

Educator licensure candidates at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign are held to the same professional expectations as teachers and school personnel at the field site. This includes abiding by and enforcing building rules related to possession and consumption of alcohol, tobacco, and chemical substances. Candidates at the field placement site in possession of these substances or under the influence of these substances may be subject to student disciplinary procedures and applicable legal consequences. They are subject to the Illinois School Reporting of Drug Violations Act as well as the Student Code of the University.
